Swap!!!

24 / May 2014

Amsterdam -Spring is here! Spring is here! Time to put away the winter woolies and let the sun kiss your skin!

Are your copies of ‘Feminism is for Everyone’ and ‘Consequences’ collecting dust on your bookshelf? Are you sick of wearing the same jeans over and over again? Does it feel like your kids need new clothes every 5 minutes?

Then join Voices of Women (VOW) Media for an afternoon of swapping! Bring your fly clothes, revolutionary books, funky accessories, and cutesy kids gear and swap them for new goodies!

And because we’re awesome, there’ll be a DJ spinning funky music to keep you grooving while you shop, a stylist on hand to help you put together fashionable outfits, and cupcakes, tea and coffee to keep you energized! We will also be screening kick-ass videos and exhibiting photography from our projects.

So go clean out your closets! Look for clothing (adult & children), books, and accessories (bags, scarves, jewellery, belts, etc.). The more you bring, the more you can take home!

So blow away the winter cobwebs and come to our Spring Swap Shop! And spread the word!

The funds raised from this swap will go to our upcoming project, A Day in Her Life 2014. In this three-month workshop, women working in Amsterdam’s Red Light District will be trained to use film, photography and radio to tell their own stories and take charge of the way they are represented as women and sex workers. This will be our third project in partnership with health centre P&G292. Our first two in 2010 and 2012 were wildly successful!

More info and photos of the project can be found on our website. Check out the project we did in 2010 and the one in 2012.

See you there!
