Nepal is one of the least developed countries in the world. About one-quarter of the Nepalese population is currently living below the poverty line. Nepali girls and women are subjected to poverty, abuse and various kinds of violence, human trafficking is one of them.

“Remembrances” is a collection of short films. Voices of Women Media along with partner organization, Shakti Samuha and  Free a Girl, conducted a 4 months multimedia training. The training was given to young girls and women who are survivors of human trafficking and are currently living at shelter home of Shakti Samuha. Each of the girl has a unique story to share and the photo stories created by them not only demonstrated their strength, courage, and confidence but it can also be used as an advocacy tool to raise awareness about human trafficking in our country.

The private screening was organized by Voices of Women Media at Shakti Samuha’s office on 6 November 2017.
